Great to see Christchurch City Council in partnership with Visionstream (Ventia) deploying low cost IoT to monitor and manage their sewage system. This solution is already resulting in significant operational improvements and cost savings. A real gritty IoT application delivering significant benefits to the people of Christchurch.

A great, albeit be it very sad, application of IoT doing good in our communities. Getting these devices out into homes will show the true state of housing stock in NZ. As NZ’s we then need to focus on solutions to fix this wicked problem.

Analyst firm IDC has announced the findings its latest Worldwide Semiannual Internet of Things Spending Guide.
