With a diverse array of connected vehicles, smart infrastructure, and data-driven solutions, the sector is transforming how people and goods move around Aotearoa and beyond. 

Join us for the first in our IoT Showcase series, and hear from kiwi innovators and businesses in the IoT space as they present their products or projects.

Our keynote speaker Mark Heine, Co-Chief Executive Officer of EROAD, will share insights on environmental sustainability. Following this, four presenters will deliver five-minute pitches showcasing their products or projects.

Theresa Corballis - Chorus NZ Limited & IoT Alliance
Mark Heine - EROAD
Mark Heine is the Co-CEO of EROAD, a New Zealand-based transportation technology company specializing in telematics solutions for vehicle fleets. He has been with EROAD since 2015, initially serving as General Counsel before becoming CEO in 2022. Prior to joining EROAD, Mark had an extensive legal career, practicing in both New Zealand and Australia. He worked with prominent law firms such as Bell Gully in Auckland and Allens in Sydney, specializing in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and antitrust matters. In his leadership role at EROAD, Mark has led the integration of Coretex, a telematics company acquired by EROAD, as well as turning EROAD around from being free cash flow negative to generating cash and profitability. Mark recently appointed a Co-CEO David Kenneson, a US based Co-CEO, which reflects EROAD’s focus on growth in North America while maintaining strong performance in its home markets of New Zealand and Australia.
Dom Williams - Techlight
Dom is the IoT and CMS Support Manager for Techlight, who provide high quality lighting products, and smart lighting controls/advanced water metering infrastructure networks. He supports clients to remotely control and program lighting installations, track real-time energy and water usage, improve fault finding and asset management, and enhance operational efficiency. Dom has diverse experience in fields including IoT, data management and analysis, teaching/mentoring, and adventure tourism.
Peter Martin - Auckland Transport
Peter is a Senior Streetlighting engineer working with Auckland Transport managing a number of contracts including undergrounding of power lines. Relationship disputes have been a focus for Peter over many years, particularly since becoming a Member of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute of NZ (AMINZ). Such includes family business relationships and acting in the role of an advocate. A Fellow of the Institute of Management and Leadership, Peter also acts as Secretary to the Board of an Auckland Council controlled organisation and is Secretary to three health related charities working for Pacifica communities in New Zealand.
Ben Ransley - Smart City NZ
Ben is the Founder and Managing Director of Smart City, he is incredibly passionate about driving sustainable innovations through technology across three fundamental silos: Transport, Waste & Street Furniture. He was born in Titirangi, Auckland, and has lived in Auckland his whole life. He’s a ‘classic’ Kiwi who loves fishing, diving and food. Ben aims to showcase how emerging technologies, innovation, and strategic partnerships can make an incredible positive impact on the efficiency and delivery of operations and infrastructure in New Zealand.
