July News: Location Technology demand soars

June has been cold and wet but it hasn’t dampened New Zealand’s enthusiasm for all things LocationTech.  Current market conditions suggest that Location Technology practitioners are currently overrun with work and conversations with various LocationTech members confirm that they have never been busier.

However, closed borders have reduced the pool of Location Professionals, and finding qualified individuals has become harder – it is little wonder as our industry has always relied on the immigration to fill roles. We need to do more to ensure that the supply of qualified professionals is maintained and we hope to bring positive news about this in the coming months.

Nevertheless, it is great that Location Technology has seen such demand.  It demonstrates market growth and an opportunity for Location Technology to further expand its remit into new and exciting markets.

LocationTech held a very successful joint event with the IoT Alliance in June.  Our three sets of speakers covered a diverse range of topics and sparked great discussion amongst audience members.  There are more events on the way so be sure to check out our events page to see if there is one near you.
