Although we’ve been through a challenging year, the awareness and value of IoT solutions across consumer and business markets has continued to grow in NZ as well as globally. We’ve seen sensor technologies and aligned data science initiatives have a huge impact across the world in assisting various Covid-19 efforts. This has swept across many industries including healthcare, logistics & supply chain, education, remote access & working to name a few.
The NZ IoT Alliance has worked hard this year to connect, promote and advance IoT across industry, Government, education institutions and startups. Our focus has been on driving collaboration awareness and supporting and facilitating partnerships. Key activities this year have been supporting Alliance member Tech Futures Lab on their Post Graduate Certificate on Connected Environments, establishing an Education Sector Working Group and recently a thought provoking Connect event on IoT and the Future of Transportation with Alliance members Auckland Transport and Ohmio.
We’ll be hitting the ground running early next year with key focusses for 2021 including:
- continued exploration on how the education sector and industry can collaborate further on IoT
- growing our Connect Event series in areas like IoT & Healthcare, and IoT & Sustainability
- focussing on IoT collaboration and partnerships as we build further towards scale IoT commercialisation opportunities.
Please get in touch if you’re interested in speaking at or hosting a Connect event.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all members for their support and sustained involvement throughout the year in driving IoT forward in NZ.
Wishing you all a safe, enjoyable festive season and we look forward to engaging through various work streams in 2021.
